Do's and don'ts - Plitvice Lakes

1. Make the best of the day - don't start too late!

08:00-08:30 is the perfect time to leave weather you're going from Zadar or Zagreb. If you are planning to have a late night, sleep it off and leave it for the next day because you will need the whole day and all your energy!

2. Don't go on your own during the summer!

Do you know that over 10 000 people visit the park every year? During the summer it is super crowded, so don't even bother going on your own or you  might spend 30+ minutes in a queue. Taking an organised tour doesn't just have perks like total organisation, better transport vehicle and expert guide. The guides have skip the line option and they will get you trough the entrance in just a few minutes.

3. Book in advance!

Book your tour in advance to be sure you will see the Lakes! The park is so popular and the people so eager to see it that if you wait for the last minute to book, you might not book at all.

4. Wear suitable clothes!

Don't go to the park in shorts or flip-flops. The Park is situated in a mountain area and the tracks require you to be suitably equipped. Wear good sneakers and comfortable pants. Don't forget the sunscreen nor a long sleeved pullover - it will be hot, but the temperatures can vary in the mountains.

5. Take pictures carefully!

Yes, we understand that you want millions of pictures from this piece of paradise, but do it carefully! Don't go close to the edges, don't skip over fences, don't lean to much over anything... It sounds logical now, but once you are there you might forget about logic. Don't risk yourself and your well - being! There are so many viewpoints and positions from where you can take that one perfect picture.
